Let’s start with the battlefront, in the Donbass region the Russians are fighting very hard with the Ukrainians over the city of Kostjantynivka and Krasny Liman, the Russians are trying to cut off the supply lines to both places and are doing it so very methodically, now the fighting could still take weeks if not a month before Russia makes any breakthrough in those two cities but for now the fighting is intense and bitter. If we move to the south then the fightring in the Zaporochye region is taking more shape, Orekhov is being surrounded from many sides and it’s the final bastion before Russia takes on the City it self which is very big, a city with a population of over 700.000 before the war broke out which means it will probably take a long time to take unless the rumours are right that Russia is preparing a large invasion force but we have heard this several times befire without anything happening. The rumour is that in spring Russia will put a large force together and make a huge push in the Zaporochye and also in the Donbass area, so a 2 front push with a large force. What could support this rumour is that the Russians are around 3 times as many as the Ukrainians in the battlefront but if Ukraine only defends then it doesn’t matter that m,uch cause you can withstand a 3-1 disadvantages but if the difference get’s to 5-1 then the Russian should be able to over-run the Ukrainian positions and this could be the plan with a huge offensive but for now it’s only rumours.

The Russians are also making huge missiles strikes that hurt the Ukrainian energy sector with large power cuts and lack of electricity and heat to follow, this is serious for Ukraine cause we are in the middle of the winter and its been pretty cold lately in Ukraine. The missiles Russia is using are Iskander M’s and Kalibre and sometimes they use the Oreshnik also but they are farther inbetween than the Iskander M’s and Kalibre. Ukraine did manage to get a 1 week energy ceasefire in Kiev but that was a very short lifeline to Ukraine and Russia quickly resumed to destroy the energy infrastructure of ukraine and ofc also hurt the productions facilities they target around Ukraine.

The peacetalks has come to a stand still, Ukraine are firm on their positions and so are the Russians, so no progress can be made atm and it’s most likely that there will be a small break in the negotiations soon I guess, but for now they still hold talks, Ukraine are trying to move the talks to USA but Russia wants to keep them in Abu Dhabi for the moment. There has been an assasination attempt on one of the Chief negotioaters from Russia, one of the negotiaters where shot several times in Moscow but survived the attacks and the shooter was arrested in the UAE and was brought back to Russia after a short escape. Seems counterproductive to try and assasinate the people you are holding talks to, to try and achieve peace… but I guess in a war anything goes, but the media respons in Russia has been brutal, they want Russia to ramp up their own assasinations in Ukraine, they want Russia to get their own hands dirty with shadow war and dirty tricks but if that will happen we will see in the future, I don’t think so, Putin doesn’t like the dirty war and has him self been attempted murdered several times and it’s understandable that he wants a little to do with it as possible, but maybe the pressure in Russia will be so large that he perhaps has to do something in response to the assasination attempts.
