The situation with Venezuela has meant that the Ukraine news has had less focus lately but let’s look at some of the news from the battlefront lately. Lets start with the news that Russia has now officially made use of the Oreshnik missile, it has 1 time before been tested on the battlefield but now it seems like it will be used more regulary. The Oreshnik is a missile that flies hybersonic which means it flies over mach 10, 10 times the speed of sound, I believe that in flight it creates a plasma shield because of the fiction which blocks normal radar detection but only when it flies very fast and high. When it decends it looses some of its speed but still its so fast that no air defense can shoot it down, even the Americans can’t shoot it down atm but I’m sure they are working on a way to handle that as we speak, but for Ukraine, all they can do is watch as it hits very precisely. The Oreshnik was used against an airbase that was used to repair MIG-29 and F-16’s for Ukraine so its very likely that it hit some airplanes as well as the base it self. Manufactoring places was hit as well during the night where many drones allso participated.

If we move to the battlefield then the key area’s in the north is still Kostjantynivka, here the Russians has taken control on 3 sides around it and only 1 direction does the Ukraine still has supply roads into the city, but as time goes the Russians will create a cauldron around Kostjantynivka and then hold a strong grasp around the city and slowly wear down the Ukrainian soldiers, this is what they usually do and Kostjantynivka will be no different. In the Kupiansk area Ukraine has hit a new low in trying to pretend they are contesting the area, they tried sending in a drone with a flag and tried to plant it at an administrative building in the center of the city in order to make it appear they had reached the area, but it failed and both drone and flag was destroyed, Russia continiues to have a strong hold on not only Kupiansk but also Pokrovsk and Mirnograd.

If we move to the south at Zaporochye region then Russia is getting closer and closer to the city it self, in the south of the City Russia are only 10 km from the city and Ukraine has startet to evacuate the southern part of Zaporochye city, now the actual siege of the city wount start for another month or two because Orekhov still has to be captured before Russia will start a siege on the big city it self, how long the siege will take is unknown, it’s a big place and could be both easy in some area’s to defend and hard in others, industriel area’s are usually harder to defend because of the design of the area while highrise building and area’s are harder to attack, also all buildings has to be cleared out one by one and same goes for appartments, so a huge city like Zaporochye could take a long time to take.

Putin has been out of the media pictures for over around 2 weeks but he did make some small appearences but it looks like Putin has used the Christmas holidays to take a small and much needed break, even without Putin in the media he has problably still has had alot to do behind the scenes since there are many things going on atm, in Ukraine but also the situation in Venezuela and even Iran is important to Russia since they regards them as “friends” and Iran is part of Brics as well. Im unsure if I should talk about those places as well since it is all over the media atm, I kinda wanna stay out of it since my stance towards USA allways has been anti colonial in my minds since USA still acts like they can do whatever, I understand it’s complicated because Venezuela is trading with both Russia and China alot and therefore a conflict of interest for USA who considers Venezuela as part of their back yard, so it’s complicated even if Venezuela is a sovereign state and thus deserves to run the country as it wants, it’s being sanctioned very hard by USA because it’s hostile towards USA. I fear Greenland, Cuba and Iran will come under somekind of attack by USA in 2026, Greenland will be less dramatic but Cube will not go down without a fight and Iran the same, they are a hotspot politically for 2026 and USA wants to play the global policeman even if it’s interest is mostly oil and resources.
