Let’s start with the battlefront, Kupiansk has been quiet for a few days but the rumour is still that it looks really bad for Ukraine and that it will fall pretty soon, maybe a week or less. In Potrovsk there has been a kollapse from the ukrainian forces and some of them had to retreat from their positions, the rumour is that the Russia’s troops followed in persuit this retreat and pushed onwards hard and gave the Ukrainians little time to retreat in peace, the situation is also bad in Potrovsk but it will take some time before it falls still, weeks but less than a month. in the region of Zaporizhzhia the situation is the same, Russian forces are attacking all the small villages and settlements in and around the big city of Zaporizhzhia it self, how long it goes before an assault of the city it self will take place is unknown but it could be this year or earlie next year unless a freeze is accepted.

Talking about a freeze then Putin aquired a phone call with Donald Trump a few days ago and everyone first response to the news was about the Tomahawks, and they where right but there was much more to it, firstle as many predicted when they heard about the calls then Putin made it clear they saw it as an escalation if the Tomahawks where sent to Ukraine and ofc argued against it and pressured Trump by saying that all negotiation from the Alaska Meeting would be lost if that where to happen. But Putin also made an offer to Donald Trump regarding the Donbass and Zaporizhzhia+Kherson regions, the offer is that if Ukraine leqaves Donetsk region, that’s where the fighting is at the most brutal now and Russia are winning, Kupiansk and Potrovsk ect, if that region is left by Ukraine then Russia will freeze the regions of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson meaning they will not make attacks in those regions for the duration of the freeze, there was however not yet any mentions on how long this freeze would be as of yet.

Zelenskyy went to USA to visit Trump after the Putin phone call and he ofc wanted to push for the Tomahawks not knowing that Russia had made an offer to Trump also, acording to rumours then Zelenskyy rejected any land retreat saying that they must fight for all territory and this made Trump really angry, so much so that he yelled at Zelenskyy and threw around papers at the table. Putin had very geniously given Trump and offer he was looking for and even if Putin him self will have a hard time selling this deal to his own people because they are already winning Donetsk them selves in a matter of a month or two but the point was to get Ukraine to give up the Donbass so that it won’t be talked about in future negotiations, to have Ukraine, US and the EU to accept that Donbass belongs to Russia, that is what Putin is trying to achieve, but Zelenskyy shot it down on the spot to great anger from Trump. Putin can now be happy that he made an offer and that it is the ukraininas who are holding back the cease-fire talks and the ball is at Ukraine and not Russia like the EU and Ukraine has been trying to create a narrative that it is Russia who are avoiding any progress for cease-fire and peace talks, Putin has reverse that with his offer and it also looks like that the Tomahawks is on hold for now at least. There has been talks about a meeting between Trump and Putin and perhaps other people in Budapest in the near future if everyone agrees to this, it will be abit hard foir Putin to fly there since he will be crossing several angry and hostile countries to get to Budapest but he will most likely travel there still.
