As Russia continue to hammer Ukraine with 500-700 drones and some missiles every day or every other day then there is a new development going on around the small city of Pokrovsk, Pokrovsk is a very important logistical hub and a is considered to be a fortress for the Ukrainian forces, a place they will fight bitterly to defend. Russia has for some time now slowly created a semi cauldron around the city and there is less and less options for the Ukrainians inside to get reinforcements and materiel, as days goes by the roads are slowly getting controlled by the Russians and as seen so many time before the Ukrainian soldiers prefer to fight in the cities rather than the area’s around it, this also goes for Pokrovsk, the Ukrainian forces are said to have left the suburbs and barricaded them selves in the city center and city area. This was done fast and could be a sign of a collapse already, it was considered that it would take at least 2 month from when the siege started to break Pokrovsk but already after a small week of a cauldron the Russian forces have taken the suburbs and are slowly moving forward to the city it self, how long it will take we cannot be sure, it could still take a long time but depending if we already are seeing a collapse or if this withdrawal was done in good order or if it was forced by the Russians attacks we can’t say for sure, but the next week or so we will learn more if the fight is gonna be long as predicted or if it will be rather short, if it becomes short then the West should worry a lot, cause it would mean that the frontlines in Ukraine are deteriorating at an alarming rate.

The Ukrainians thought that with the whole drone war they could stop the forward movement of the Russians and “freeze” the conflict but that has not turned out to be true, despite the air being filled with drones on both sides the Russians continues to move forward and improve their positions and take villages after villages, several cities are also under threat like Pokrovsk, Kupiansk and others will come under siege soon if these falls cause it will open up the space for more Russian advantages. So the status on the battlefield remains bad for Ukraine, the drones wasn’t the wonder weapon that should stop the Russians, yes it has changed the battlefield on it’s own merit but despite that the Russians are working their way forward every single day.

Germany has sent over 100 long range missiles to Ukraine, everybody says they are built off the Taurus cruise missiles which has a range of over 500 km, but the Germans are being quiet about it, they don’t wanna give to much away but once the missiles come in use we will see how effective they are and also if the Russian anti air defense can take some of them down, so far the Hi-Mars, shadow-missiles or others have been shot down rather effectively by the Russians, only time will tell if this will be the same for the “unknown” missiles from Germany, I will continue to call them Taurus until we get a new name from the Germans or the Russians.
