There is a plan being worked at in EU to face out Russian dependence in regards to Energy, before 2022 EU got about 40% of their energy usage from Russia, today that number is around 19% but by the end of 2025 they want a third to be removed and un 2027 it should be at zero. It will be hard to get the votes needed as Hungary and Slovakia gets a lot of their energy from Russia so they will properly vote no but whether or not it is enough to block the proposal is unsure or if EU will bully them into submission. France will also have to look elsewhere for fuel cells from Russia to their Nuclear plants facility, luckily they can get it from Australia also but at a higher price of course.

Its looks like an attempt to have more autonomy but it comes at a high price, the Russia gas is really cheap so people in EU will have to expect a much higher price to heat up their homes or gas for industrial production or just energy in general, USA LNG cost like 8 times more than Russian gas so buying it from USA would be very costly and there is also the issue of environmental issues, LNG are even more dirty than coal plants so they are stupid to use but they are popular among the big countries sadly even as many coal plants has been faced out because of pollution, but then LNG takes over and is even more polluting than coal… what a backwards mentality.

EU seems to go full frontal on Russia and aims to cut as much as possible in order to become more autonomous towards east but if you then just buy energy at a higher cost and more polluting is like shooting yourself in the foot, a very dumb idea, your industry will suffer greatly and it will become very hard to compete with whomever Russia sells their cheap gas too, I understand that there will be a cooldown period towards Russia but we wont become less autonomous unless we will nuclear plants and acquire the means to produce fuel cells, we need to become more autonomous in regards to USA or anyone else, meaning we need to be able to produce the most important stuff like energy ourselves, our water and so forth.

But lots can happen still and USA is making a tariff war on everyone at the moment so anything can happen, I hope we can be autonomous but whether or not we can do that towards USA is more problematic since they sit on IT really hard and building iPhones and what have you. I fear what EU is doing at the moment is like pissing in the wind or pissing in your pants, silly thing to do if it possible does create a recession for our industry.
