Sadly absolutism is the name of the game in the negotiations and even if Russia is also positioning them selves hard then it is Zelenskyy who is the most extreme, his plans made together with EU are basically terms to surrender and of course Russia is having none of it. Donald Trump and Steve Witkoff tryed to made a proposal which would have forced Zelenskyy to acknowledge that Crimea where to stay under Russian control and sovereignty and that was too much for Zelenskyy who in return made a proposal which basically would demand the surrender of Russia since the terms was that of a winner of the war which is in fact Russia who is winning. Reporters did ask in an interview Trump what Ukraine would get in return of his plan with Witkoff, Trump replied that Russia wouldn’t take more of Ukraine and that Ukraine wouldn’t risk loose everything in a war scenario which they might do if the war kepts going on.

I think Trump is waiting for a reply from Ukraine officially to the current cease-fire plan worked out and if Ukraine says no then perhaps USA will walk away from the whole conflict to focus on Iran and China. 1. Maj could be the deadline for a reply and since Zelenskyy never changes his absolutisms then I believe the conflict and war will go on for more month until things changes dramatically during the war, and with the current directions it will be the Russian who will improve and come out ahead, things are developing and Russia is preparing for a big offensive in the summer when the ground is dry enough and the conditions for a large push is there.

The big question is if Zelenskyy will ever change, especially with the support from EU who also seems suicidal in nature and absolute like Zelenskyy, then the pathway looks like a dead end for the Cease-fire negotiations, especially since the coalition of the willing is basically dead and UK and France are blaming each other for it, the coalition of the Willing had planned to put a few troops into Ukraine as a way to put pressure on Putin IF they had the backing of USA with a security guarantee but Trump has said no to that idea, this means the few troops will not scare Russia who will see them as legitimate targets if they enter Ukraine and the number talked about is 7-8000 troops which is a very low number and if they do enter then just wait until the body bags start returning home to France and UK and Denmark then there will be a lot of bad media critique for the leaders who already are in a bad position.
