Right now EU is trying to push for an unconditional cease-fire after the first 2 semi cease-fire has been agree upon, one regarding Energy Infrastructure and the other regards free commercial shipping in the black sea and some ease of sanctions although EU has blocked some of it like the shift payment system which has blocked Russia for now still holds. But admits these 2 semi sanctions EU is trying to push for an unconditional cease-fire which would benefit Ukraine ALOT war wise, after all a stop to the conflict would be a huge benefit for Ukraine cause Russia is slowly winning the war, slowly but surely the Russians are moving forwards, some days its a bit back and forth while others its faster but no matter how slow it is going the signal coming from the battlefield is very clear, Russian has the initiative and are pushing forwards everyday.

They are ATM trying to take 4 regions, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye, one region they have taken 90% and the three others around 70%, Russia calls this as being close to victory, a militarily victory and there is even rumors of a Russian long awaited summer offensive which if it succeeds would perhaps settle the war for good but who knows what might happen before, maybe an unconditional cease-fire is administrated that would allow for Ukraine to re-group and prepare and gather some strength to be able to withstand a Russian summer offensive, this cease-fire might be what Ukraine needs to get back into the fight, but no matter how you look at it then Ukraine would benefit a lot from it and the west is being quiet about it, they don’t want the word out that they are loosing the war, slowly but surely at the moment.

But for people who want peace then a Cease-fire is the way forward, after all that is how peace is made, but lets not be naive, the two parties in the war has positioned them selves very far from each other and at the moment there are no signs that they will met half way, I fear the the conflict has to go on for a while more before talks can be fruitful or meaningful, I know its harsh to say something like this in war time but that is how I read the situation, and I want peace but one that reflects the ongoing situation and here Russia is winning at the moment, slowly but surely and an unconditionally Cease-fire would benefit Ukraine a lot hence the reason why Russia is hesitating about it, they prefer some more fighting before the talks, that’s at least how I see it.
