Been a while since my last update, but ultimately the situation is pretty much the same, Russia has the initiative across the battlefront and Ukraine are defending as well as they can. The Kursk region and Sudzha has come under Russian control and there are still rumors of small pockets of Ukrainians being trapped in the area still even if the operation ended over a week ago but news about these stranded soldiers must be a bit exaggerated because of propaganda, at one time people said there could be several thousands trapped in the area but I will guess that was part of the show. That said then the operation was a huge success in Sudzha and Russia is allowed to praise them selves a bit after that.

Now we still have talks going on but it is primarily between USA and Russia or USA and Ukraine, not between the 2 countries in conflict, the reason for this is because of the hostility between them still, despite poll showing Ukrainian people want peace even if they have to give up some territory but the leaders are still head bent on their ways and views even if they have positioned them selves very far away from the realities on the ground, that said I hope not Ukraine accepts USA idea of having all the energy go to USA to ensure its safety, I believe that what ever there is left of Ukraine should be as autonomous as possible, that I wish for the Ukrainian people and I also wish that the amount of money sent to help them rebuild will come as much as it has come for the war effort, that is only fair in my mind.

Now it does seem they have manage to agree to a cease-fire in regards to the Energy infrastructure meaning that the gas and electricity is now safe from bombings or attacks or at least should be. How long it will hold I dunno but its a start even if it is a slow start, Russia wants to avoid another Minsk agreements cause the 2 of them failed to be uphold by the West and Ukraine, even if they could have avoided the war completely at that point, just as they could have avoided war only 2 month into the fighting where a deal in Istanbul could have ended the war and it is this deal or starting place the Russians would like to start the negotiations or talks namely what Alexander Mercourious calls Istanbul+ because at the Istanbul talks they agreed to most of the things that stood between the 2 parties and it was almost signed before Boris Johnson flew down to Istanbul and torpedoed the talks by the behalf of USA ofc.

It’s abit weird that USA are the ones trying to meddle in the conflict since they are practically on the side with Ukraine, which means every time Trump moves closer to Russian terms or points of view then people will argue that he is going against Ukraine, understand trump should be impartial but he instead has a foot in both places instead of none IMO. This makes the talks difficult cause he first takes the position of one side before he moves on to the other one and changes position or at least this is what it look to me atm. It doesn’t help that Zelenskyy is very abrasive in his positioning and he means well but it makes everything much harder cause he only wants what is best for Ukraine but he forgets he ran for peace when he got elected and now he has gone so far in the war direction that I fear he would rather loose the war rather than agreeing to any peace deal where Russian will get some territory out of it, like Crimean, Kherson and so forth. But if the war goes on then I fear it will slowly increase the territory lost by Ukraine even if it will take a long time still to do it by force.

Ukraine needs to start showing something on the battlefield if they want a better position in the negotiations, they need something other than a suicide mission which I believe the Kursk was or it ended up being that because they didn’t get far enough into the Russian territory to get near the military places that apparently contains nukes or supposedly. Ukraine needs an operation that shows they still got some fight in them, like a good strong counter-offensive, now I know I’m asking a lot but If they don’t wanna negotiate from a loosing position then something has to change on the battlefield, you cant loose a war and demand a strong negotiating position like Zelenskyy does or even the European counterparts, I know I’m pushing it hard here but I want peace between the 2 countries and an end to the hostilities.
