Most important news for the moment is that USA and Russia are talking to each other again, the rumor is it could be about Ukraine but its only preliminary talks, they are both sending out feelers to see where each other are on the issue, but this could be the beginning of a process that could in the future lead to series peace talks. To top it off USA has put pressure on Zelenskyy to hold an election cause atm he is president without any due process cause he cancelled the last election, but now USA are pushing for a new election.

One of the reasons for this is because Zelenskyy has done everything he could to avoid peace and stood for war, that it is impossible for him to be part of a peace deal, this is at least how Russia is seeing this, for example Zelenskyy made it elligal to even talk to Russians on any peace plan which means anyone trying could be jailed. Russia also ask weather if Zelenskyy has the mandate to sign a peace deal since he hasn’t been through an election and therefor could be viewed as someone who doesn’t have the backing of the people. An election would also secure a person who actually wants peace since a poll recently showed that most people in Ukraine wants the war to end and ofc Zelenskyy fears this.

Budanov the chief military intelligence officer for Ukraine has been quoted to say that in 6 month, if there is no peace talks then it could be over for Ukraine, many has tried to get a comment from him afterwards but he deflects on the issue, this does however fit with the Russians comments that in 6-9 month the war could be over, this is at least how Russia see’s things. Most people agree that atm Russia is slowly winning the war and Ukraine haven’t been able to make any offensive of their own for a while, the numbers we are getting is 55.000 dead or wounded every month and Ukraine are only getting 30.000 new recruits every month so they are bleeding very hard when it comes to troops. Ukraine hopes to get 300.000 new troops from the last conscription but last time they only get around half what they hoped for and I guess it could be around the same this time, Ukraine called up people under 25 to 18 which before was exempt from fighting because Ukraine wanted to perserve their youth, their future but now they have been called up.

Denmark has said ok for Russia to repair the Nordstream, there have been an investigation for a long time but nothing has come out of it, most people agree USA was behind it in some way and form and I agree. But the timing of this news is weird as USA and Russia are talking then perhaps Russia will start repairing the Nordstream 2 or 1, cant remember which one of the two was damage by and explosion but it could signal that if there is a change in politics and we get a peace deal in lets say 3-6 month time then perhaps the Nordstream could be allowed to function again and Germany could receive alot of cheap Russian gas which Germany’s industry desperately need, the current sanctions hurt Russia but its a two way streak and it hurts Europa alot also.

Last time I said Toretsk has fallen but only now it is 100% fallen, Ukraine made a small counter-offensive and manage to recapture a small part of a mine in the outskirts of Toretsk and have hold on to it for a few days but now its over in Toretsk. Chasiv Yar is also close to fall but it is taking time, often the terrain can make it take longer for Russia to take an area even if they are close, but in a week or perhaps less or more it will fall.

Overall its good news that Russia and USA are talking to each, we have no idea yet how fast that talks are going but it will take some time for a peacedeal to be arranged, Russia also absolutely deny any freeze cause from their perspective it only gives Ukraine the opportunity to re-arm/prepare and get ready for a new battle, Russia also doesn’t see any point with an European peace force since EU has been useless in the negotiations around Minsk 1 and 2 and in general has been escalating the conflict with more arms and money to Ukraine while pilling on the sanctions also together with USA.
