Media has run amok lately with the stories of long range cruise missiles to Ukraine, lets take a look at it.

First I wanna share my personal view before we go into the narrative battle, I don’t see that big issue with allowing Ukraine to hit inside Russia but it all depends on what they target, if the target is military like ammunition depot, barracks, airfields with fighter planes or bombers and also abit of infrastructure then i think its fair, after all this is what Russia is doing to Ukraine them selves but there is 2 area’s where Ukraine has to be as disciplined as Russia is and they are civilian casualties, they do happen but it is very low but Ukraine has abit of bad history of bombing civilian targets in Belgorod, besides civilian target then there is the nuclear facilities inside Russia and here Ukraine again have a bad history of bombing the Zaporochya nuclear powerplant as well as trying to capture it militarily, last worth mentioning is the huge radar system that were built to track incoming nuclear missiles and they are considered existential for Russia and imo they are a red line Ukraine cannot cross cause if so they could set in motion an escalation to the use of nukes.

Now lets take a look at the narrative battle, Ukraine have for some time asked for long ranged cruise missiles like the ATACMS, Storm Shadow from UK, French SCALP or the German TAURUS, but for a long time USA said no cause it involves USA helping with targeting via satalite and personal and Russia could regard this as third party involvement and strongly stated that it could escalate even further, then a story broke that North Korean troops (3000) had entered Russia and this was blown up in the medie by the west, North Korea has a border with Russia and also a defensive pack which mean that they both can come to help each other in case they are under attack. Now there is no news of them entering the battle zone yet and they could be in Russia to learn about modern combat from Russian trainers or perhaps they have come to aid in the Kursk region because that is Russian Region and that could explain why they are rumored to be there, in order to aid in Russian territory, this is at least the Western story, that they are in Kursk region to help Russia, but so far none have been seen in battle yet, so again it is still anyones guess, but the west quickly increased the 3000 to 9000 and then said that Kursk region has 50.000 Russian and North Korean troops, this is a smart retorik cause it doesn’t mention how many North Korean there really is, it could be 3000 or more but saying 50.000 of Russian and North Korean does make it sound like alot.

Because of the North korean troops the West and USA has allowed for long ranged cruise missiles, cause if North Korea really is in Kursk then the west could view it as a third party joining the fight and that would justify the cruise missiles to Ukraine even if that also could be viewed as a third party joining so they balance each other out, this is at least the logic by the west.

Now Russia still claims the right to response to the long ranged missiles snd that has been to changed the docktrine around the use of Nukes, now if Russia comes under attack from several countries deep inside Russia, lets say that the long ranged missiles where hitting Moscow, then Russia would allow Nukes to be used cause it would deem it existential for their country if Russia were under attack by several countries, that is st least Russias stance atm.

Now the first ATACMS or Storm Shadows has been sent already, just as USA allowed it, 6 long ranged were sent into Bryask which lies just north west of Kursk region but 5 were shot down and the last dmg so it made little dmg, but another 10-12 were sent into a village in Kurst region and we have yet to hear what they were aiming for but we will most likely hear about it soon cause 10-12 cruise missiles in one village sounds like overkill so something of value must have been in that village. What How Russia will response is also unknown but again we will know soon enough.

One last thing about the narrative these days, have you noticed how much the west focuses on only Kursk region? There is 2 reasons for it, one of them is that the whole eastern and southern regions are slowly collapsing, Ukraine has accepted that and that they cant reverse it, all they can do is to slow it down, the other reason they focus on so much on Kursk region is because they wanna keep the Russian territory at all cost and then use it in the peace negotiation, this way they feel they have a stronger position at the table if they can hold on to some Russian territory, Russia view Kursk as something they wanna “mop up” and take care of before any peace negotiations and who knows, perhaps this is why North Koreans are reported to head for the Kursk Region, we really don’t know, perhaps there are only 3000 in Russia somewhere to learn the current tactics in warfare, no one knows yet but the narrative has been spun from the west, they are sure that they are in Kursk to fight inside russian territory.
