Gaza Update 18/11

Been far to long sinde my last update and I will try and make up for it in the coming future.

In the last 24 hours Israel has bombed several places and killed 76 and injured over 150, despite that Israel has moved focus towards Lebanon and Iran then Gaza has still been randomly bombed and the casualties are now at around 43.922 dead and 103.898 injured not to forget the many people suffering from many sicknesses because people have been pushed very close together and sadly that means diseases has risen and children has gotten vaccines against Polio for instance.

It is reported that a convoy of humanitarian aid was looted violently after Israel’s change of route, 98 of 109 trucks are gone and it shows how hard it it is to get food and aid into Gaza, UNRWA and World Food programme are doing its best to deliver much needed food but its has been an ever increasing difficulty for the aid workers to deliver the food.

There are speculation that since Israel are focusing on Lebanon and Iran then perhaps there could be a small window for a cease-fire for the Palestinians, how ever one should not be surprised if Israel will deny that path, they want the hostages to be released before a cease-fire but at the same time Israel are killing negotiators and constantly and randomly bomb Gaza making it hard the many people who are displaced and forced to group up and that increases the risk of diseases not to forget hunger and starvation.

Joe Biden keeps re-arming Israel even amids a stronger protest from many groups and people like Bernie sanders who wants to block sales of weapon to Israel, but sadly with the election of Trump it could get worse for the Palestinian people cause he has appointed a very pro Israel ambassador to the UN Elise Stefanik and this could be bad news for the Palestinians even if support globally is still very strong and growing.

On 7th of November Macabbi Tel Aviv played an away match against Ajax and lost 5-0, after the game and during the night some hooligans from Tel Aviv vent around trying to attack anyone who looked like an Arab or middle-eastern looking people, like taxi drivers and other people, only a couple have been arrested after attacks with pipes against random and Arab looking people and even worse it was reported as if it was Israelis fans who was attacked by anti semitics, because of the confusion and the desire not to create a negative attention it was for the most part portrayed as the Israel’s who were the victims and not reverse which was the case. I understand that it is dangerous to critique Israels cause there is a chance of creating genuine anti semitics but Israel is trying to use polarisation as a weapon, trying to force people to chose between them or the Palestinian, but that should ofc be avoided, Israel and Palestinian people are both wonderful people and each Palestinian baby is as valuable as an Israeli one and visa versa, polarisation must be avoided and we must ofc condem violent acts even if disguised as hooligans and I would like to ask should Israel be allowed to play European games? while there is a case of Genocide in the progress in International Court of Justice? Should sports be used as soft power in cases like the one in Gaza? I know its always controversial to mix politics and sport, most of the time its a very bad idea but I feel it is warranted in this case but that is ofc only my personel view. I will end this post but I will be back soon.
