Even with constant talk about Cease-Fire even from the Americans (we can debate later how sincere they are), then it feels like a never ending story were someone or many dies when ever talks intensifies and then there is a reboot attempt and on and on the circle goes, but there is hope coming from the Palestinian side who has been willing to try and talk politics on how to proceed into the future after a possible cease fire ends. An important meeting took place in China a month ago and Hamas and Fatah attended with another 12 Palestinian parties, the meetings went well and there are talks about a post war government as well as elections again after a long time with Hamas at the top, now it finally seems Hamas and Fatah agree to peace between then and even plans going forward.
For me this is wonderful news and yes they can only proceed with a cease-fire but at least people are starting to see possibilities instead of endless war and absolutism from both sides but mainly Hamas and The current Israel government with Benjamin Netanyahu as the driving force willing to push for his own absolutism just like Hamas.
Question for me is: can the west and Israel accept a future with Hamas? If they agree to democracy again and perhaps an updated ideology or political other than absolutism or has the train passed that point for Hamas? If so does the same hold true for the current Israel government and Benjamin Netanyahu? Are we at a point were neither of them can be allowed to win cause If Hamas or Benjamin Netanyahu wins with their absolute goals then it will only confirm others that you can set absolute goals as long as you are brutal enough, this is also what we are seeing atm, hostages turning op dead and Israel bombing safe zone or convoys with aid and on it goes, its so bad atm that Israel’s are protesting against Benjamin Netanyahu for the dead hostages lately and for me this is a good sign coming from inside Israel and hopefully this is only the beginning, political path way from Palestine and protest inside Israel for Benjamin Netanyahu to stop his extreme positioning which will prevent a serious cease-fire.
Question is can Hamas and Benjamin Netanyahu be part of any future negotiations? If Hamas changes it self will they be accepted or has the boat already sailed? Has the change in direction come little to late for Hamas? Who can help broker peace and perhaps tell what is needed for serious peace talks, like 2 state solutions or perhaps talk about a security frame work which could help bring a more sustainable and long term peace or Cease-Fire.
