Everyone knows that Bill Gates created Windows operating system and help get the internet starting but few people know he is one of the largest farm land owners in USA and also buys some land outside, but more importantly he has enormous influences via the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which was commercialized or branded as a philantrophy but could also be very well seen as a form of trick to avoid paying full tax while investing in Farm land or land and other projects, he is one of the biggest donors in WHO (World Health Organisation) although its relative small still, but amoung private doners he is in the top.

But none the less Bill Gates and others donors to organisations are forming how and what the African famers should use to increase yield and many others are investing in organisations or using their own organisation like Bill Gates, here is a few other big players in.: Rockefeller Foundation and corporations including Monsanto, Dupont, Pioneer and Syngenta.

African farmers are pushed to use GM seeds and rich expensive furtilizer to maximize yield, some crops are also pushed to make use on the international market rather than trying to help Africa as a continent to be able to feed it self first. Some of the crops are sold in USA since they moved away from producing weat some time ago and produced bio fuel related crops.

Now the many organisations which does help and does good stuff but they focus on the international market and seeds produced in labs which require very rich and expensive fertalizer, even if African farmers have created seeds over long time that works well and they also could produce crops that could be used a bio fertelizer. Now it happends to be Bill gates who owns or has huge share in the GM seeds which are used in USA,Ukraine, Africa but not in Europa, here there have always been a great concern of effects on the land after some time.

I would call Bill Gates a opportunist rather than a philantrophy, his investments in African has perhaps good intentions but he is focused on the top down control and should instead engage with farmers more on the ground rather than trying to control everything from a lab where the seeds are made to what markets they should sell to.

I wellcome any investments and effort to make projects in African but the African farmers and workers need to be included and have their own organisation so that they have a strong voice cause the list of comany’s I put further up are not now known to be that democratic in the way they conduct business.
